The Process

Throw + Trim + Fire

Estimate 2-3 Week Process

50% deposit is required to start a project. Project turnaround times will vary depending on the season. Use the contact form below for a quote and best-estimate for timeline.

After a vessel is thrown on the pottery wheel, it must dry to a "leather-hard" consistency. Then we trim and add details like handles to mugs and hand-stamped messages. Then the piece needs to completely dry -- not to fast, or it will crack. At this point, we bisque fire and pray to the kiln gods it doesn't crack in the kiln.

Glaze + Fire

Estimate 1-2 week process

After bisque-fire, the pottery piece is ready to be glazed and fired. Kiln's are only fired when full, so firing schedules vary each season, but typically, this process is about a week.
